Since childhood, both Michael Badolato &  R. Michael Gallaway have a love for cars and really enjoy  attending local car shows.  After traveling around the area for years going to different shows, Badolato thought, “Why not have a car show at the funeral home?” In 2021, we organized our first car show to take place in the funeral home’s parking lot. We thought since we are having a car show to bring the community together, lets donate all the proceeds to a local charity in town. That local charity is Heartworks of Bernardsville, NJ.  Our first show was on the smaller side, but we ended up with a decent turnout, between 70 and 80 cars. Many told us they had a great time. Once we saw the success of our first show, the following year we expanded it to the empty parking lots neighboring the funeral home and received a permit to close the main road to park even more classic cars. Since our show has grown in the previous years we now reach out to local businesses in Bernards Twp. and Bernardsville to sponsor the event. This allows us to make the show even better each year, and gives the local businesses some great advertising exposure.   Our car show also features a DJ, a food truck, and an ice cream truck. There is a registration fee to have a car enter the show, and judges will hand out trophies for top 25 best cars, people’s choice, and a best in show. All proceeds, of the car show, will benefit Heartworks of Bernardsville. Heartworks is a nonprofit, established after 9/11.  Heartworks is “a local movement of women committed to replicating and sustaining the kindness and connection witnessed in the wake of September 11, 2001. Inspired by the healing that takes place through receiving and giving, we offer hope to people experiencing a chronic illness with an acute need, an unexpected injury, a natural disaster, or unbearable grief, while taking part in our own self-growth.”
